ARGOS WR SJ GREEN NAMED CFL TOP PERFORMER IN WEEK 17
TORONTO - Toronto Argonauts wide receiver S.J. Green has been named a CFL Top Performer of the Week for Week 17. This is Green’s league-leading fourth top performer nod of the season, and the team’s fourth in five weeks.
On the road in Edmonton, Green hauled in 13 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown, as well as back-to-back two-point conversions in the fourth quarter. His 159 yards marked his second-highest single-game total of 2017 and the fourth-most in a single game across his 11-year CFL career.
Remarkably, one year after suffering a season-ending knee injury, the Florida native is enjoying the most productive season of his CFL career. His 95 receptions and 1,337 yards are both career-highs and his nine touchdown receptions ranks third in his career and second in the CFL.
Green has etched his name in Argos history with his outstanding production, moving into fifth on the team’s single-season receptions list in Saturday’s game. With 121 more receiving yards, he would lock up the fifth-highest single-season receiving yards total in team history.
