ARGOS HOST LEADERSHIP SUMMIT TUESDAY TO WRAP UP 16th YEAR OF HUDDLE UP PROGRAMMING

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club, in partnership with the Canadian Safe School Network, is proud to celebrate the conclusion of 16th  year of the Huddle Up Bullying Prevention Program, presented by Tim Hortons, with the club’s  annual Huddle Up Leadership Committee Summit on Tuesday, May 9, at the University of Toronto’s Goldring Centre of High Performance Sport. 

The Huddle Up Leadership Committee Summit will unite Argonauts players and cheerleaders with high school and elementary students who attended a Huddle Up presentation during the 2016-17 academic year. Argonauts players who have played an integral role in the Huddle Up Program and will be in attendance at this year’s summit include Jamal Campbell, Lirim Hajrullahu, Tyler Holmes and Shawn Lemon.

The Leadership Committee Summit is a exciting opportunity for students from different schools to share in an end of year celebration with our players, cheerleaders and staff. There will be idea sharing combined with fun activities to provide a morning of fun for all Huddle Up students..

This year’s summit will feature keynote speaker, Julia Tomasone from the Family Channel’s “Backstage.

The Huddle Up Bullying Prevention Program, presented by Tim Hortons, has been in place for 16 years to improve the lives of GTA students by providing them with knowledge and tactics to eradicate bullying and promote healthy, inclusive relationships. Toronto Argonauts players and cheerleaders have proudly worked with program staff to make a positive difference in the lives of Toronto-area youth since 2001. Since 2009, the Huddle Up program has been recognized on the Ministry of Education's Registry of Bullying Prevention Programs. The Argonauts are the only Canadian professional sports franchise to earn this recognition.
