ARGOS SIGN INTERNATIONAL DB TREY CALDWELL

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced today the club has signed International DB Trey Caldwell through 2020.  

Caldwell, 25, was originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft and spent one season in Cleveland. Following his rookie season in 2016, the 5'9, 185-pound DB was signed by the Tennessee Titans and spent the 2018 offseason with the NFL club before being released during final cuts. 

The Dallas, Texas native spent four seasons at the University of Louisiana-Monroe (2012-2015), playing in 48 games for the Warhawks and racked up 143 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and 19 pass deflections. Named All-Sun Belt Honourable Mention during his Junior and Senior seasons.
