ARGOS DE VICTOR BUTLER NAMED CFL TOP PERFORMER OF THE MONTH

TORONTO – The Canadian Football League announced today that Toronto Argonauts defensive end Victor Butler has been named a CFL Top Performer of the Month for the month of July.

In five CFL games before being sidelined due to injury, the first-year Argonaut notched a total of 35 defensive plays while topping the CFL in sacks (7) and forced fumbles (3) and adding 17 tackles and six quarterback pressures. The Oregon State product led the Argos with eight tackles and three sacks in the team’s 26-25 win over the Ottawa REDBLACKS at TD Place in Week 3 en route to being named a Top Performer of the Week. In his first three CFL games, he managed to register at least two quarterback sacks in each outing.

Butler was joined by Edmonton’s Mike Reilly and Ottawa’s Greg Ellingson who were also named CFL Top Performers in the month of July.
