ARGOS ACQUIRE FORMER ALL-STAR DB ABDUL KANNEH IN TRADE WITH HAMILTON

2019 EIGHTH ROUND DRAFT PICK GOING THE OTHER WAY

TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts announced today they have made a trade with the Hamilton Tigercats, acquiring INT DB Abdul Kanneh in exchange for an eighth-round draft pick in the 2019 CFL Draft.

Kanneh, a product of New Mexico Highlands, brings four years of CFL experience to an already veteran-laden secondary. Kanneh spent his first three seasons in the CFL with the Ottawa Redblacks where he was named an East Division All-Star and CFL All-Star in 2015 while leading the league in interceptions (6), fumble recoveries (3) and forced fumbles (4). Kanneh was again honoured in 2016 with an East Divison All-Star nod. Kanneh captured a Grey Cup championship with the Redblacks in 2015 while recording three defensive tackles, one tackle for loss and a sack in the victory.

The 5'10, 175-pound Kanneh signed with Hamilton previous to the 2017 season but an injury-riddled campaign held him to only seven games played. In 50 career CFL games, Kanneh has racked up 155 defensive tackles, five sacks, 12 interceptions and six forced fumbles.
