ARGOS ADD LINEBACKER AKEEM JORDAN

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts announced Tuesday that the team has signed international linebacker Akeem Jordan.

Jordan, a 6-1, 255-pound native of Harrisonburg, Virginia, played 100 career NFL games, starting 44, as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, and Washington Redskins. Signed as an undrafted free agent by Philadelphia in 2007, he played in 82 games in six seasons with the Eagles, recording a career-high 71 combined tackles during the 2009 campaign. Jordan tied a career-high with 10 starts in his lone season with the Chiefs (2013), tallying 67 combined tackles (54 solo) and two forced fumbles in Kansas City. He most recently played two games with Washington, posting one tackle, during the 2014 season.

A two-time All-CAA selection (2005-06) at James Madison University, Jordan played in 50 games across four seasons with the Dukes. The 2006 CAA Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-American totaled 299 combined tackles, 26.5 tackles for a loss, 7.5 sacks, six interceptions, nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries at James Madison.
